Nina Fokter Dovnik, MD, PhD, is a medical oncologist working at Maribor University Medical Centre, Slovenia. During her oncology training, she attended clinical fellowships at the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia, Spain, under the mentorship of Professor Andrés Cervantes, and at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom, under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Smyth. She received the Best ESMO Examination Award in 2017. Dr. Fokter Dovnik’s clinical and research focus is the treatment of gastrointestinal and gynaecological malignancies, with a particular interest in the quality of life of cancer patients. She is an active member of the Gastrointestinal Tract Cancer Group and the Quality of Life group at the EORTC and serves as a liaison between the two groups. She is also a member of ESMO and of Slovenian Medical Association.
